ACT Composite Score
I highly recommend Richard to any student who is looking to improve their English, Reading, and Essay skills. Every class, we would go over each incorrect question, and he provided me with effective strategies so that I don’t get those types of problems wrong again. Even if I didn’t understand what I did wrong, he would explain to me and take me step by step to the right answer. Although the amount of homework may seem overwhelming, it helps you find common patterns in the questions of a test like the ACT and prepares you well for the next set of problems he gives you. Compared to other test prep classes I took, this class is a lot more engaging and comfortable. Instead of sitting in a musty old classroom devoid of any personality with twenty other people you have to share attention with, you can study in the comfort of your own home with the personalized attention you need in order to succeed.

ACT Composite Score
Richard was extremely helpful in my ACT preparation. I met with him about twice a week over Skype. His practice work and tips were very straightforward and easy to understand. Working with Richard on practice tests made it very easy to pinpoint my weaknesses and determine what I needed to continue to working on. I noticed a considerable improvement in my reading comprehension, grammar, and writing skills. I was able to finish preparing for the ACT in a much shorter time period and found that I felt much more ready compared to other test prep sources including online classes and other academies that I took for months. Richard’s classes made test prep fun and helped me complete my ACT with ease. I found his teaching methods to be very productive and helpful.

Richard is one of the finest, down-to-earth and most devoted teachers that I’ve ever worked with. I’ve never had a teacher who is as personable as Richard and has my best interests at heart. I always enjoyed his classes, and I always left them feeling like I’ve just talked with a friend or someone who is more than just a teacher. Although, unlike most friends, I actually learn from him! I never felt bored during his classes as his enthusiasm and vigor for teaching is contagious, and it’s evident that he is truly invested in my growth as a student. What truly distinguishes Richard from any other teacher I’ve worked with is that he makes the extra effort to help me and make sure I’m getting the most out of him being my teacher.

ACT Composite Score
After taking classes with Richard for a little over two months, I found that his lessons were very effective in that most of the studying was done outside of the lessons. Unlike my experiences in prep schools, I studied using the materials provided by Richard and only went over the important concepts or questions I had about that material during the one-hour lessons. This made the classes time-efficient while still being effective and important. I also found Richard to be a very supportive and easy-going teacher who was easy to approach. He did his best to make sure I thoroughly understood concepts I was confused about and was well-versed in the subjects he taught. I enjoyed learning from him and would recommend his class to other students since it would be a great educational experience.

SAT Reading Score
I had no problem with SAT Math and Writing, but I could never seem to figure out the Reading section of the SAT. Richard was a revelation for me! Where before the reading section felt confusing and random, I now had an idea of what was going on and correct way to solve the questions. My mind craves logic and consistency and so Richard’s method of solving questions really fitted nicely with my learning style. Richard also pointed out that I had some gaps in my vocabulary and so he gave me this awesome little vocab book, which really helped with covering the gaps in my vocab knowledge. Overall I really recommend Richard to any students who need good, focused advice and guidance!

Richard really goes well beyond what is required of him as a teacher. I particularly liked the very structured way he taught all of the classes. Although there is a lot of homework to finish, you can really feel yourself improving when you get your homework scores! When I was studying alone, I felt kind of isolated and that I was facing this massive task alone. With Richard I never felt like that. I felt like he was always there making sure I was giving my best and prepping in the most efficient way possible. Most of my success is due to Richard’s kind patience.

I worked with Richard on improving my SAT for about two months. I found him an excellent teacher who motivated me well and gave me the advice I needed! At the time I was a bit depressed about my preparation for the exam. I had tried a few other teachers and studying on my own but nothing was working. Richard provided me with a clear roadmap to solving questions (particularly in reading) that made me a lot more confident in my ability to solve questions. After solving a lot of tests and reviewing my mistakes with Richard, I felt my confidence grow. His essay template was also awesome! Thanks again Richard!

AP Microeconomics Score, AP Macroeconomics Score respectively
Unfortunately my school AP Economics teacher wasn’t that good and I was really worried about how my AP Micro and Macro exams would turn out. Luckily, my parents knew about my problems and scheduled a number of classes with Richard. Richard really knows his AP Econ! He has an incredible number of previous AP Econ exams, has his own guide he made, and seems to know the material intimately. When the final exam finally arrived, I was super well prepared and didn’t find the actual exam hard at all. Trust me, if you want to grab an excellent score in AP Econ, you have to work with Richard!

AP Language and Composition Score
AP Language and Composition was a very difficult class for me. I am not the best writer and I don’t really enjoy reading, so I knew the class was going to be a challenge before I even started it. The class was worse than I predicted, and I felt stressed about taking the actual exam in May. Fortunately, a friend of mine recommended Richard to me and we started class immediately. Richard covered the three types of AP Lang essays in detail and also had a lot of multiple choice tests for us to practice with. When the actual test arrived in May I was very well prepared and got a 5!
